I worked as a secretary for a few years before joining the US Army in 2008. After an injury I was discharged and moved to NYC in 2010 where I met my partner who was also in the US Army. He joined in 2002 and after a tour in Iraq he returned home where he went to college. We met at the college’s Veteran’s Club. I met a few social workers there that were not so great, inspiring me to become a social worker. I completed my masters in Social Work from Touro College (now Touro University) in 2017. In 2021 during COVID I decided to complete a Doctorate degree in Human and Organizational Psychology from Touro Worldwide University. This is where I completed my dissertation on Military Veterans Perceptions of Civilian Job Satisfaction Based on Intersectionality Theory. Después de trabajar como secretaria por algunos años entré al US Army en el 2008. Luego de una lesión salí del Army y me mudé a la ciudad de NY en el 2010, donde conocí a mi pareja quien también sirvio en el US Army. El sirvió en el US Army en el 2002 y luego de un tour en Iraq, regresó a NY y comenzó la universidad. Nos conocimos en el Club de Veteranos de la universidad y fue donde conocí a trabajadores sociales que no hacían bien su trabajo. Eso me motivó a ser trabajadora social. Obtuve mi grado de maestría en trabajo social en el Touro College (ahoraTouro University) en el 2017. En el 2021 durante el COVID completé un grado doctoral en “Human and Organizational Psychology del Touro Worldwide University”.
